YRSRA MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
MANDATE:
The mentorship program will
allow all York Region District Referees that have been identified by their
Club Head Referees to receive positive feedback and coaching from qualified YRSRA senior referees. This program is also open to those
District referees
who wish to obtain feedback and coaching, and have an ambition to later
upgrade. The key feature of this program is to encourage, educate and coach
those young elite referees to enhance their ability of officiating the game
of soccer.
OBJECTIVES:
- Develop a mentorship program that will
allow willing Class 4 and some District Referees to be mentored at least
twice per year.
- Educate, provide positive feedback, and
coach referees to attain their potential through mentored games.
- Encourage District referees to participate
in the upgrading seminars and process.
- Provide a list of those referees that have
successfully completed at least two mentored games to the YRSRA in order
to encourage upgrading to the next Class.
REALISTIC ACHIEVABLES FOR THE PROGRAM:
- Mentor at least three District referees each week of the summer soccer season.
- Identify those District
Referees that have the potential to upgrade to next level..
- All YRSRA Club Head Referees will receive
a notification before the start of the season introducing and
explaining the YRSRA Mentorship Program.
- Mentors will be paid on a monthly basis.
